Tales 1 skeleton now up on AO3

Prompted by someone asking where to find more of Predatrix's fanfic, I have added a skeleton of Tales 1 to my account at AO3 and the mirror site at Word Press. Right now it has the editorial frontmatter, including the table of contents, Pred's "MSWank 5.0", and one of the filler snippets. I will add more things as I get time/energy to do so and permissions from people (remember that I did not get advance permission for online publication for the first 2 volumes). The AO3 version is set up as a collection, so any of you who already have copies of your stories on AO3 can also add them to the collection.

If you don't have an account but are happy for me to add some or all of your Tales 1 content to the "whole zine" file, please comment or email. I have a file around here somewhere of who gave me permission a few years ago, but I need to do a disk trawl for it. Likewise, if you did give me permission but have changed your mind since, please let me know.

I'm happy to add links from the TOC/stories to people's websites, LJs, etc, but that's something I'm *not* doing unless the person concerned asks me to.

I'm planning to put up the skeletons for the other zines, ditto, but at this point I need a break from peering at HTML.

I've linked it from the zine's page on fanlore (http://fanlore.org/wiki/Tales_from_Space_City). By the way, I've been meaning to let you know that I made an article there a while back for one of your writing pseuds but now notice that you've linked another in your AO3 profile -- is it ok to do this at fanlore?

Hey, I've got a fanlore page. :-) It's fine to link the two fanfic pseuds, but could you remove my mundane name from the zine page, please? I'd rather the mundane name and the profic name weren't linked to the fanfic names. Also, I had nothing to do with ORACnid other than contributing a story -- that was Predatrix.

[is amused by concept of "known for her fluffy m/m slash stories"] Though I suppose the online pseud *is*, since it was mostly squibs that got posted online. The offline pseud is the one who usually wrote the video nasties.

Sure (I didn't write the ''Tales'' page, by the way). Would you like me to ask one of the fanlore moderators to get it removed from the history? I've fixed ORACnid (& the associated zine page where I got the incorrect info).

Those two pseuds really did develop quite different personalities :) I'll do a separate page for the other fanfiction pseud when I get a moment & link it in.

I could see you hadn't, but I don't have a fanlore account and you do, so easier to ask you to do it. I'd like it removed from the history if possible, although doubtless someone will add it back. The chances of getting it off Hermit are fairly remote given that the site is now moribund (the machine Richard used to maintain it has died), but I don't really mind it being on Hermit as long as it doesn't spread.

Looking at the ORACnid fanlore page, I think someone has read in two of my zines or on the zines' info on Hermit that a story was previously published on ORACnid, and simply jumped to the conclusion that I must be the ORACnid publisher as well -- it looks from the information quoted that they'd stumbled across a reference to Oracnid in my zine information and created a page based on that. They've also assumed that all of the Endless Farce was previously on ORACnid when in fact it was only the first and possibly the second of the series of stories. I'll see if I can dig up more information on ORACnid's contents and dates (Pred might remember), and put it in a blog post on the zine WordPress site so there's something to link to.

I've put in a request; we shall see what the PTB say. They're usually fairly sensitive to fan's wishes, though not always.

There's a huge amount of zine information up there, but some of it is pretty inaccurate. I know one of the editors who has been populating the zine contents has got some of it from unreliable sources like EBay sale listings, and some of it does seem to be just a straightforward misreading of the source.

That appears to be up on Hermit, so it's not just a mistake from whoever wrote the fanlore page.

You edited the individual posts together into a single coherent text file for me, and I then tidied up and did layout, after which we both did pruf-reeding. So you got co-editor credit on that one.
