The actual post certainly doesn't seem to have been too heavy for people, though I suspect some of the comment thread may have made a few eyes glaze over. :-)

Oh, that was my editor who showed up on the TMT comment thread this afternoon. At least I have some evidence she read yesterday's progress report email.

The internal copy editor can be a bad thing for fiction writers during the actual process of writing, because a lot of people get so tangled up in trying to make it perfect first time that they can't finish a draft. Hence the cry oft heard on rasfc, "Gag your Inner Copy Editor!" Or in more serious cases, strangle... But having one is indeed a good thing, so long as they're not permitted to control proceedings.
