To be honest I can't raise much interest in the issue. Some people think my style is girly because I use metaphors and semi-colons--but I couldn't name a brand of make up or type of shoe if my life depended on it. I know that when I go by 'veinglory' on forums 9 times out of 10 I get called 'he'. So long as they pay for the book it's all good.
