That was the real joy of this exhibition. They're mounted in frames behind glass for protection, but you can get right up to them -- you could press your nose against the glass if you were rude enough to do so, although I suspect the staff would suggest that you not do it again. And there were a couple of Fresnel lenses lying around in the room so you could magnify to inspect the details, although I found better results by resorting to my reading glasses. I may well go again equipped with magnifying glass.
