Yes, I'm not actually all that annoyed about him *being* killed off (though obviously I would have liked the character to continue), because he's been slated to die at least twice before. It's just the way they did it, which didn't seem to me to be doing much in the way of advancing the plot, or giving him a magnificent send-off the way they did for Tosh and Owen. It's just there to pile on the Captain manpain. And let RTD pretend he's Joss Whedon.
