Got home early tonight, so for once was not too drained of mental energy to write. Not that I got much done, but 239 words tonight for a total of 1007 on the one that was "trashy porn you may get to see" on the poll a while back. It's developed something that may be usable as a plot, in which case it's going to be not-a-short-story, but probably not going to hit 20k unless I can find it a bit more plot.

I came over here from your recent comment on After Elton, and I am hoping that you don't mind if I friend you. I'm currently trying to get a handle on writing original m/m fiction, after spending a few years writing fanfic -- mostly for Torchwood, but more recently for a number of other fandoms too (my fic/everyday life journal is

You might find the EREC site of use, particularly some of the older blog posts specifically about craft -- and definitely look at the epublisher database.

Storm Grant did a good series of posts on using a piece of fanfic as the basis for a profic story, which even if you start a piece from scratch rather than converting is a useful guide on things you need to do differently for profic. First post here: http://storm-grant.livejournal.com/17783.html

I probably won't friend you back, but only because I'm deadly serious with that comment in my profile about having to restrict the number of blogs I read to save my wrists. (I don't have Copperbadge's main LJ friended, even though I read it regularly -- I just read it regularly every week or two when I feel up to it.)
And the one Torchwood fic I've got around to polishing and posting is here: http://bramble-jam.livejournal.com/719.html Most of my B7 fic is on dead trees, and I've been saying for the last five years that I'll post some of it when I get around to it, so any decade soon now.
