It was still daylight during my commute home this evening, but the Curry Mile was very much in party mood already. Lots of happy people celebrating the end of Ramadan.
My tolerance was, alas, somewhat stretched by the invasion of one expression of religious belief. There were several young men parading up and down the Mile draped in the Pakistani flag in celebration of the one day international being played at Chester-le-Street, and it appears that worship of the vuvuzela has infested the glorious game of cricket...
