... don't know how you do it on a Mac or Linux, but on the PC it's Alt+PrintScrn (PrtScr on some keyboards) which is next to the Scroll Lock button for the current active window, and Ctrl+PrintScrn for the entire screen.
I just then paste it into PaintShopPro to edit, or you can paste directly into things like Microsoft Word if you're writing manuals/instructions.
