This one's entirely my own fault. I have an address on waveney.org for the zine editing pseud, in case anyone wanted to send a LoC, but at one point it used to get several pieces of spam per week and maybe one genuine piece of email every six months if I was lucky. So I filtered that address to a folder called "probable spam", and looked in it once a month to see if there was anything real, rather than have the spam cluttering up my main in-box.
I've been a lot slacker these last two years about checking it regularly, and obviously a lot more careless about checking that anything in it really was spam, because I accidentally sent this one to the wastebasket along with all the stuff that really was spam. I only picked it up when I was having my occasional empty of the wastebasket -- wherein I do actually skim through it to catch the stuff I deleted by accident and would want back before I delete permanently.
