Spring Equinox

And it has turned very spring-like in the last week. It's still cold, but the white blossomed trees in the park have been in full bloom for at least a week now, and the earliest of the pink flowering cherries started to break bud last week, with some of them in full bloom now. And the flowering currant has been on the go for several days now. I took a few photos in the park last Thursday to catch the change from the late winter to the early spring flowers, although I've not uploaded them yet. And today I saw a few trees along the road with a faint, delicate flush of green along otherwise bare branches, that delicate green known for good reason as "spring green".
Sunset time is changing fast, and there's still sun on the taller buildings in the city centre even if I leave the office at six. Tonight it was early dusk as I arrived in the village, with a clear sky that meant there was light enough to walk through the park on the way home from the bus stop.
It'll be colder again before long, and there may even be more snow. But the season has turned. It is, indeed, spring tonight.
