the weekend is a partial success
Jun. 12th, 2011 08:36 pmIt's Pentecost, so I wanted to write a post for Bearing Witness, but failed miserably. I think that this is largely because I more or less blobbed today in recovery mode after a stressful week one way or another. I could still try tonight, but I think better to put it aside for now. So far this week I have written three "discussion" type posts on other subjects and deleted them in draft because on second reading they were too cranky, so I don't suppose the religious one would be any better.
I did, however, catch up on my book log. If I've finished reading it, it is now logged and sitting in the pile to be put away or disposed of in various directions. I did consider offering up the LTER review copies for "who wants it next?", but they're heavy and will be non-trivial to post even to the UK -- need to check the weights before making a final decision.
Making headway on tidying my office, with a large chunk of the accumulation of receipts entered into the accounts, and various bits of official correspondence dealt with and filed. It does help that I finally tracked down where I'd put the spare hanging folders so that I have something to file them *in*.
I thought I was finally going to get some fiction writing in, but actual work as opposed to blobbing has been on the aforementioned paperwork, and my brain has now switched off for the night. This is probably a good point to walk away from the screen, and go and find something non-backlit to look at.
