julesjones: Jack Harkness and a mug of coffee, Torchwood (coffee and Jack)
[personal profile] julesjones
One of the people who bagged a few of my discarded books paid for his postage with a Play gift certificate. I am watching the Torchwood section with interest, looking for something to spend it on. I don't normally bother with collectible figures, but the Torchwood ones have wormed their way into my little fannish heart, and I currently have Jack, Ianto and Tosh guarding my computer at home.

There is also a Doctor Who version of Jack guarding my computer at work. I am sorely tempted to get a second Ianto to assist in guarding the work computer, ideally with a small sign next to him saying "Unappreciated ones." (Given the people I work with, I predict that it will take less than two days for Jack and Ianto to be... posed... while I am away from my desk.) However, the Ianto figures have not been on sale as yet, and I am not sure I can justify paying ten quid for a second one just to provide light relief to my colleagues.

So, how many Ianto figures do I need to buy before I cross the line from "sad fangirl" to "*really* sad fangirl"?

Maybe it's like bikes: the correct number is n+1, with n being bikes owned.

Oh,you're nowhere *near* the line yet. When you've got one in every room of your house, THEN maybe...

Only if you buy a new house to get more rooms to put them in.

Er... one?

Or maybe it's like that line in Engineer's Guide to Cats (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHXBL6bzAR4): if you have two cats, well, they can keep each other company. If you have three cats, you start to get to be "that guy who has all those cats..."

I've only got one cat and portions of my family already treat me like a cat lady. --Other portions are trying to convince me to get another cat in what I can only presume is an attempt to turn me into a cat lady.

You can never buy enough. "Sad fangirl" is when you buy a custom Ambassador Kosh action figure that talks...that is, it yells "I AM CORNHOLIO! I NEED TEEPEE FOR MY BUNGHOLE!"

Can you ever have too many Ianto figures? Really?!? ;)

I agree with [livejournal.com profile] spacefall, n+1 sounds like the perfect answer. :)

One. Though I do love the n+1 school of logic.
