I've somehow buggered up my tendons again, so I'm not going to feel guilty about not writing or doing housework. What I actually spent the day doing was reading the latest Dalziel and Pascoe. Liked it muchly. I should probably find a copy of Sanditon and read that, then go back and re-read the D&P.

I just read The Roar of the Butterflies, a Joe Sixsmith novel, and I noticed how much it read like the "old" D&P that I liked so much: smart, funny, witty, full of clever language instead of pretentious literature. But the Sixsmith books are, relatively, "lightweight". People are nice, except some baddie-baddies, and a good heart wins it all.

Still, it was a great pleasure, and made me wonder how many of the other Sixsmith I read. I never seem to remember.
