Back from the estate's street party for the Jubilee, organised by one of the neighbours who'd done all the paperwork so that the rest of us could have a jolly good time. Fortunately it was today rather than yesterday -- yesterday's weather varied in a range from "drizzle" to "coming down in buckets", whereas today was not only dry, I am now regretting not having put on sunscreen. Other Half is feeling pleased because his efforts in putting up both bunting *and* a flag have been noticed and appreciated. It has been a most enjoyable day, and am now looking forward to the coverage of the concert from the Palace.

Sixty years of service deserves a good party. Cheers, Ma'am.

I am glad you enjoyed it and also rather pleased to read about the jubilee being enjoyed by ordinary people. I had got the impression that people were all rather cynical about it and I am glad that is not the case.

I'm glad you've had good weather for your party. While not really paying much attention to the jubilee, I hope that people have been enjoying their parties because I generally like the idea that the streets are being reclaimed by their communities for more than just cars to pass down.

I notice the duke has been taken into hospital as a precaution - precaution against having to sit through 3 hours of that concert if you ask me, and I don't blame him. Interesting how his health held up all through the boat trip....:)
