hot water at last

The Man With The Parts has been and gone. Naturally, the wretched thing has been on its best behaviour since last night, but he replaced the relevant bits based on my description of what it had been up to, and gave it a service into the bargain. I'm hoping that this is the end of it, at least for a few months. With any luck I will now have a few hours of quality writing time this weekend, even after I catch up on the housework.

I may have to kick-start the muse

Pulled out the current manuscript. It currently consists of Chapter 1 and some scribbled bits of Chapter 2. Can I remember what was supposed to go *around* the scribbled bits? No, of course I can't.

I could just go and start chapter 3, but I'm not very good at writing out of order, and I'd rather not have to go and back-fill later. This is partly that it's been so long so I did anything on this manuscript that I really have forgotten exactly how Chapter 2 went, and partly that it's so long since I've done any fiction that I'm just rusty. I might pull out one of the fragments of fanfic that got dumped on my hard drive during Torchwood second season, and see if I can get my 300 words for the day done on one of those, just to get back into things. I can probably pull up Chapter 2 when I'm going into stage 1 sleep tonight.
