Remembrance Sunday

Not quite 90 years since the guns fell silent. There were more lives lost between this date and Armistice Day itself, lives to add to the enormous toll that four years of fighting had taken.

"It'll all be over by Christmas."

It wasn't. Remember that, along with the price paid.

So, I was reading Persuasion on my Cybook during my commute this week? Last night I decided I needed to finish it, and pulled out my treeware Austen omnibus. Turned out the light rather later than I intended, and then finished it this afternoon. This is possibly a dangerous thing to admit, given the number of Austen professional fangirls on my flist, but I'd never read Persuasion. Now I have. And am annoyed at myself that it has taken me *this* long.
