Received an email this morning to say that my short story submission to Penumbra had been passed on for the next round for consideration, and that it would be a while before I heard anything further. (They do multiple passes on submissions as they start to firm up the story line-up for the issue.) So at least it was considered a good enough match for what they want to be retained for further consideration. :-)

Just seen a revised version of the call for subs for one of the markets I submitted to last month -- it now specifies first person (which I'm fairly sure it didn't before), and the piece I submitted was third person. It was borderline anyway, with being slapstick sex comedy as much as anything, but that probably rules it right out.
I do have a first person short of the right length lying around, but that fails on the requirement to have noticeable erotic content within the first few paragraphs. :-)
