Feeling a lot better now, thanks. I get the headache-free form of migraine (and one of the things I got out of the con was someone telling me that it's a known category of migraine), and it normally responds well to simple treatment, so I wasn't too bad other than that Friday evening. Once I got it under control I just had to be careful not to set off the acute symptoms again.
And there was in passing a mention of the fact that any dinosaur fossil environment will give you either bones or footprints, never both - they're mutually exclusive. So don't put both in a dig in one of your stories unless you want to annoy readers who know that sort of thing.
I don't suppose you have any other references for that panel? It may be useful for the new novel (the one I'm failing to keep on hold while I write something non-fantasy).
It was hopping about a fair bit and I couldn't focus well enough to take notes, but I remember odd fragments. I'll try to note them down as they occur to me, and put them up in an appendix page. I was obviously a lot better by then even if I was still fuzzy, because I can remember some of that panel and I'm drawing a blank on the "design an alien tree" panel. It's really annoying that I wasn't up to note-taking, because there were some good panels for writers and I could have got some useful stuff for my writer friends.
And I really should go through my notes from last year's Baycon, and assemble them into some sort of report. Last year I was fine *during* the con, but was sick afterwards and never got a con report written. But there are some fairly detailed notes still sitting on my Palm.
