Add away. :-) I don't mind people friending me, though I normally regularly read only a small group of people myself.
I'm probably one of the most active, but that's partly because I got into LJ a couple of years ago because a lot of my friends from science fiction fandom were on it. When I wanted an Official Author Blog, it was natural to just set up another LJ. Other people tend to have Yahoo loops or blogs on other sites.
