Lord Peter Wimsey has six nice obvious suspects for a murder in an artists' colony in Galloway. Five are red herrings... One of my comfort reads, which is why I was reading it last weekend while feeling sorry for myself.
I re-read this one less often than any of the other Sayers, but when I'm in the right mood, it is enjoyable in unique ways. The railroad timetables - when I'm in the right mood, those are so quaint and fun.
Oh yes. They're particularly fun for me, because I used to drive through there a couple of times a year on my way to the ferry at Stranraer. The line was a victim of the Beeching cuts, but the places are still there.
I'll bet there are Sayers Tour companies you could pay to take you on a tour of the sites of all her novels. Oh, to have the money for that, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
I had an odd dream just before I woke up. I was in a bookshop and there was a copy of Kari Spering's book on the shelf (one she hasn't actually finished yet) and on the shelf above was a thick paperback about male nudes (not an art book, but an academic one), by Jules Jones. I think there was a second book by you as well, but I didn't see the title. (and I was definitely not in the porn section)
