I haven't had the full Jack effect yet, having only seen Torchwood era Jack. I haven't actually seen any of the Who episodes with him yet, owing to being geographically challenged (though the first one is on KTEH on Tuesday, yay!). However, I have been told about them, in drooling detail. "He's ever so much more fun in Who than in Torchwood" drooling detail...

If you can cope with PAL over there I might be able to make amends in a practical fashion though...

I did actually know about that spoiler, as it was a little difficult to avoid. I've seen almost all of Torchwood, as predatrix recorded it for me and we watched it when I was over for Christmas. And I've seen a fair chunk of second season new Who, but I hadn't seen first season until they started showing it on the local PBS about a month back.

All I know about coping with PAL is that our ancient merkin TV manages to deal with a region-hacked DVD player and Region 2 DVDs ordered via Amazon UK. I see no reason to be deprived of my cultural heritage just because I'm currently trapped in California. :-) But I hadn't got around to ordering the season 1 boxed set yet, because I thought it might turn up in my Christmas stocking. Alas, it didn't, although I'm certainly not complaining about the LotR trilogy boxed set that I *did* get. :-)
