I must have first read it about twenty-five years ago, but a library copy rather than my own. I probably hadn't read it for at least a decade when I found a copy in the second-hand shop a couple of years ago, and when I re-read it I found it as sharp as ever -- and reality that much closer to what they depicted. I'd lent it and my copy of The Space Merchants to a friend last year, and I've only just got them back -- putting their details into my LibraryThing account was what prompted me to post the review. I too regret Kornbluth's early death -- more of those books would have been a Good Thing.
