OMGSQUEEE!!!

OMGOmelas!!! I was reading that last weekend, and thinking that it would be an interesting theme to see the Grand Moff explore with the new Doctor.

Emo!SpaceWhale cgi was rather better than in Torchwood, but then they didn't need the closeups with actor/CGI interaction.

Test Card Girl!

They've obviously got the Star Wars DVD on perpetual replay in the Who bunker...

But what I really like is that there are all these little nods to other things, and yet you don't need to notice any of it to still enjoy the story. And the new companion is superb. :-)

Yes, that about some it up. :) I thought that the first episode was good by any ordinary writer's standards, but only so-so by Moffat's. But I had no such resrvations about this one.

Amy is brilliant. Intelligent and brave, not least in standing up to the Doctor at the end. And she's also very easy on the eye, of course. I wonder if they are going to make "inappropriate" attire for her a running gag. We had her Kissogram police uniform in the first episode, and her nightie in this one.

I was thinking Omelas as well! And I think they did a good job of the Omelas story, and Amy was brilliant, doing all that observation that the Doctor had mentioned in the beginning.

"When you are very old, and very kind, and the last one ..." I agree, superb.
