I don't know where Cubie found this very sweet picture of two guys cuddling in bed (well, lying on a sofa, but similar position), but I'm now wondering how many m/m romances have already used it as the basis for cover art. Because I think I want to point at it as the "something like that, only with the right build and colouring for my guys" on the cover art request sheet for the Lord and Master sequel...

For what I remember, this is for sure one of the icon of princesslaine, one of my LJ friends, but I don't remember to have seen it in a romance book cover art.

Thanks. It's probably an expensive one even if it's stock (it looks like a calendar shot) and would cost too much for the rights. Which wouldn't be a problem for me, as I don't need the photo itself but something I can use to give the artist an idea of what I want it to look like. But if it's cheap stock and already on half a dozen books, it'll be obvious what the artist was using as a reference picture for the pose even on hand-drawn manga art. (Always assuming they go manga-style for this book, because I think it's a lot less yaoi in tone than the first one.)

I remember another thing. This is one of the photos used by T.A. Chase in his blog, No Boundaries, he has two series of photos he used in the past, Affection and Art, and this one is part of them. You can ask him, if you'd like, the origin of the photo. Or, if it will be Anne Cain to do the art, she can ask her, I think she knows well T.A. since she has made all his covers.

Guy on the bottom (the one whose face you can see clearly) needs to be a slim, fluffy little blond, guy on top needs to be a middle-aged man with dark hair silvering at the temples. So the actual photo wouldn't be appropriate. But the position is *exactly* what they're doing in a couple of scenes in the book, and the expression is perfect.

Oh, I like this a lot. I think Steven should be the one on top, because that one looks like he's the bottom, if you get what I'm trying to say. :)

I was thinking Steven on top, Mark on the bottom, which is why the photo itself wouldn't work (the bottom guy is the wrong build and colouring) but it would make a good reference for what I want. The pose would be perfect for the scenes where Steven's being clingy, and Mark is being affectionate and protective of Steven at the same time.
