the laptop is unwell

The Thinkpad's hard drive is getting a tad full, so I acquired a new drive. I attempted to clone the old drive onto it last night using Acronis 11 -- at some point in the process the screen went blank and it refused to respond to the mouse. I left it overnight just in case it was simply busy, but after it had been talking to itself for 24 hours I went for the hard boot option. It's *exceedingly* slow at loading programmes now. :-( May be offline, or online briefly, for a while until I sort this out.
