There was time when I took to videoing the washing machine in hope of persuading the repair man that it "did not work".
To add insult to injury I used to pass a bill board advertising the same model with the slogan "the washing machine that thinks for itself". "Hah" I would mutter, "and what it thinks is 'not today'".
