Cult Pens mystery goodie bag

So this was being offered a few months ago at £15, or free with an order over a particular value, IIRC £50. I could think of that amount of stuff on my want/need list, along with a couple of "since it's on special...", and one of the reasons the want/need was that long was my not having ordered anything for two years. It supposedly was worth at least IIRC £18 and maybe even more. Wellllll...

First thing was the bag it came in. It was their own branded cotton tote bag, which is £5 bought separately. I'm glad I didn't, because it's pretty thin material, and I don't think worth it. Still the right size to keep a small knitting project under control, so will probably get used. There's their own brand leather pen sleeve with an elastic strap to hook it onto a notebook, £8. That is useful to me and something I might have bought anyway. A card of Legami very cute adhesive page marker strips, £2.75, which will probably get used to wind up the Very Important People at work when I send them files they need to see (although one or two of them might try to steal them from my desk, because being Important does not stop one from being silly and childish on occasions when it is right and proper to be so). A pocket-size Leuchtturm1917 Jottbook, old version, and obviously clearing old stock, would have been about £5. I doubt I'll use it, mostly because I can't remember the last time I said "I need a handbag notebook", but it can join the stack of small notebooks waiting for me to need one.

And now we get into the "we need to clear the promo items shelf". There's a Jubilee version of a Zebra Z-grip, which in bog-standard version is a whopping 65p. I wonder how many of these they had left over after the Jubilee? But Z-Grips are nice for cheap pens, and it's going into work with me. There's a Gelly Roll Basics pen, an archival grade gel pen for £1.76. I know these are from the cheap/free promo shelf, because that is how I already have one. Haven't had a reason to use it yet, but archival is always good and I do expect to use it. Maybe at work, since presumably it's tea-proof. :-)

And then there's the "whut?" items. Two Derwent Inktense samplers, one pencil and one paint pan set with two, count them two, colours. I suppose if you're a journaller they'd be useful as samplers, but they are very definitely samplers.

And, as always, two Ohto Smile clips. Just how big is their mountain of these anyway?

I'm glad I didn't actually pay £15 for this, but it's fun to unpack anyway. It didn't stop me shelling out for a £50 mystery box, as detailed in previous post, but the random nature of the stuff means you're really taking a chance on whether there's anything you'd want enough to make it worth the money.
