...another one that turns out to be German language in spite of having an English title, and one that is in English but has two pages with the corners torn off. Since the latter had failed to grab my attention enough to make me desperate to finish reading it, I'm going to ask Amazon for a refund rather than a replacement. I suspect that this more me being blah than the manga being blah; but with having read part of it already and then been irritated by a production fault, I probably won't get value for money out of it if I have to wait for a replacement.

There are two more in the order that do not have any obvious problems, but I suppose I'd better make sure I read those before the returns window closes.

Just checked the LibraryThing entry for The Syndicate volume 1, to see if I need to/can update the "other authors" field so that it shows Alex -- and discovered that it now has the following lines:

DDC/MDS 813
Literature > American > Fiction

To which I can only say... WhiskyTangoFoxtrot? Are we defining it by the publisher now? Because I am not American, and nor is my co-author. The characters aren't American, either. Really, they're not.

I suppose it probably is being defined by the fact that it has a US publisher, and thus possibly a Library of Congress catalogue (sorry, catalog) number, but I am still bemused.
