surplus filing cabinet

One of the things which came out of storage is a filing cabinet. Metal, three drawer, foolscap, full depth -- and does not fit comfortably anywhere in the new house. The drawers are a bit stiff and the key seems to have disappeared, but it appears to be functional. Free to good home, although you'll have to come and collect it yourself as we don't have a car.

Ooh, whereabouts do you live? We could really do with a filing cabinet, and we have a car as long as it's not too far.

Are you desperate to get rid of it quickly? My Dad lives in Wilmslow, and my husband is coming up to pick him up on the 24th of December and bring him down to have Christmas with us. He could pick up the filing cabinet on the way. If you don't get a better offer sooner :)

Problem is we're going to family on the 24th, so it would need careful timing. Shall consider this tomorrow when I'm awake enough to do so. :-)

That is difficult. I wonder if I could persuade Andrew to come up on the 23rd instead. Otherwise it sounds like it might be too much trouble for you.

And... having checked with Other Half what time he was planning to leave on the 24th, I am informed that we are leaving on the 23rd instead. It would have been nice if this had been mentioned earlier. :-/

If you definitely want it and could come and get it some time in January, we could find room for it in the garage for a few weeks. We'll be back from Somerset some time between Christmas and New Year, though exact date is not fixed yet.

We could certainly come up some time between Christmas and New Year, as we'd be delivering Dad back home sometime between then. We definitely want it, but not so much that we want you to go to lots of trouble.

I'm really sorry. Dad decided that he wanted to go back today (27th), so Andrew's driving up and back today. I thought he would want to stay longer (clearly I'm not much of a host), but this may mean that we've missed the chance.
