700 words on Tursday, none yesterday or today. l_prieto came to visit yesterday, so we spent the day wandering around bookshops and bead shops, watching Blake's 7, and talking about writing. AQnd I was out in the evening, so no wiritng done then either.

It was Too Hot last night. In fact, I can tell you that it was 28C at 4 o'clock this morning, because I'd had very badly disturbed sleep all night, and that was the point where I'd been lying awake for an hour or so with a heat-induced headache, and finally gave in and got up to find some aspirin. I checked the temperature while I was wandering around...

It was Really, Seriously Too Hot today. As in it hit 34C before lunch, and was 37C at some point during the day. It's still 32C in the house as I type this. I did not get very much of anything done, because my brain had switched off from a combination of overheating and lack of sleep.. I even completely forgot until about 6 o'clock that I was supposed to be at an online chat today, which is not something I normally do. I'm about to take aspirin (because I can feel the headache coming back) and go to bed.

Yeah, it has definitely been far too hot the last couple of days. And supposed to be just as hot tomorrow, too. Bleah.

If it weren't such a long drive and I had better laptop battery life, I think I'd commute out to the coast to work next week.

It's about the same here but I can't work out the equivalent 'cause of the strange American way they have of counting it. I subtract thirth and divdie by half I think, which makes it 34 degress.

p.s. Blakes 7! I have the first two series on DVD but need to get that new player to play them. I have me sales figures and await the necessary cheque. You know my dog is called Avon?

Multiply the C figure by 9, divide by 5, and add 32. Reverse to get F from C. Or find a website that will do it for you, which is what I resorted to yesterday when whining about it on Yahoogroups. :-) I can normally do it in my head, no problem, but yesterday was the sort of day when I could try to add two and two, and get five.

But I was reading off my Australian-sold barometer, which of course has a C-only thermometer. The only F thermometer in the house is the one on the central heating control unit, which was off the scale yesterday as it only goes up to 90F.

You can get the other two series from amazon.co.uk. And the nice thing is that they deduct VAT on US orders, which covers the cost of the postage. :-)
