Because there are people who have me friended, but not [livejournal.com profile] james_nicoll, and I see no reason why they should escape knowing about *this*:

Oh dear, oh dear. You wouldn't think anyone would buy one, that being the equivalent of putting up a neon sign saying "I Don't Get Out Much"... or anything else much.

Oh, dear.

Google teddybabes, no hyphen. That's going to bite someone on the bottom.

Q: Will there be a male Teddy Babe love doll?

Possibly. This, again, depends on initial consumer response; but a male Teddy Babe has already been designed and is pending development

I am not entirely certain that avoiding the image of the sad wanker is high on the priority list of the target marget for this product.

I liked this bit:

Q: How big is a Teddy Babe?

Compared to most love dolls, a Teddy Babe is relatively petite, approximately 4 feet from head to toe, and weighing less than 10 pounds. It's smaller size and weight makes it easy to manipulate and to store away. It's also perfect for traveling and can fit into a reasonably sized suitcase.

Now, image you are airport security and the x-ray shows a child-sized body in someone's luggage....

Given that what would show up on the x-ray is probably a bit of the outer shape but mostly the wire frame, and this is vastly different from the bone structure that would show up on the x-ray if there were a human body involved, I can't imagine that this would cause much alarm.
