erastes posted a pic of a BBC canonical m/m snog a few days ago. I have never even seen Torchwood, and yet the damned picture had me staring at it with my mouth hanging open for about five minutes, followed by looking at it on and off all weekend instead of getting on with writing my own smut. I've just used it as a reference photo for a scene in the WIP. And I am now feeling the faint tickling of an urge to commit fanfic. Note that I only ever wrote in one fandom, and I quit cold turkey four years ago, purely and simply because I was attacked by the Trashy Porn Novel That Grew, and by the time I'd finished that my interest had shifted completely to original fic. I'd put it down to a bad case of cat-vacuuming, but I fear it's rather more than that...

I know the feeling. When I saw that picture I run on Wikipedia to find info about Torchwood (I don't what Torchwood is before) and now I'm thinking to buy a DVD in English (I have problem to read in English, try to imagine to listen to a serial...). But that kiss! WOW!!!

It's really quite something, isn't it? I knew what Torchwood was, but I haven't seen any of it yet (nor the first series of the new Doctor Who, which introduced the Captain Jack character). I'd been planning to get it when it comes out on DVD, but I was going to wait for the price to go down. I'm not so sure I'll wait, now.

At least with DVD you can always replay scenes easily. Much better than broadcast television, where if you didn't understand it the first time, bad luck.

I always buy my ebooks in .lit so I can also listen to them whit MR. But the voice is metallic. I don't like it. Do you imagine? listen to a love scene with a metallic voice! brrr! For the DVD I think I will buy it soon: I'm too enthralled by that photo!

The photo's from an episode that hasn't been broadcast in the UK yet. I've checked amazon.co.uk, and the Torchwood DVD is listed as Part 1, so the kiss probably won't be on that one. However, I'm sure the Part 1 DVD set is worth getting anyway. :-)

The context here is that Elisa is Italian. :-) It's a lot harder for her to follow spoken English, so instant replay is useful. Though Tivo-type things give you that as well nowadays.

Torchwood has already managed canonical M/M and F/F and plenty of M/F too...

Torchwood is a mostly terrible series, but there are canonical M/M, F/F snogs (etc) and pretty actors, also canonical mpreg (mentioned, not on-screen, and I sorta hope it stays that way) and a thing named 'Retcon'.
I suspect that this is one of those shows where the fanfic will have better stories.
