Oh, and I am Officially Sulking. Rascafarians might be able to guess why. :-)
(I suppose I should be grateful the term "fangfucker" has not yet made an appearance in the relevant thread... :^)

Date: 2007-02-20 09:14 pm (UTC)I think the sci-fi shibboleth is silly, but I know it annoys some people and I know *why* it annoys them, so I avoid the term. Ditto the p word when it comes to romance. (Though nobody had yet used that word last time I looked at the thread, even if it was heading in that direction.)

Date: 2007-02-23 08:34 pm (UTC)The thread is the one about sfnal sex, and there were some rather unfortunate references made to paranormal erotic romance which I could have taken offence at were I of a mind to be as touchy as some people have been recently about any perceived slight to their political sensibilities. Even if my only fangfucker to date is a 5000 word gay vampire version of one of the major themes from Methuselah's Children.

Ah, I didn't look closely at that. Surely the only important question about sex is whether we should use a free market system, perhaps involving kiosks, or rely on a centralized bureaucracy to select our mates, such as was used on Krypton?
A hypothesis: people who write erotic romance are as a class less likely to spend their lives on the edge of infuriated frustration as are people of a particular political tendency.
