Amazon has noticed that I want to buy the final volume in the "Shout Out Loud" manga series when it's released. This morning I found in my inbox an email with the subject:

Now available: "Shout Out Loud! Volume 5: (Yaoi) (Shout Out Loud!)" by Satosumi Takaguchi on Amazon.com

Now, you'd think that would mean that it's available *now*, that if I hurry over to Amazon and put my order in, it will be in a parcel tonight, wouldn't you? But no, when I open the email, I find that what it actually means is

Those SOB's!!! LOL....yep...I feel this way alot when I read author excerpts, and then they say...oh, but it won't be released until such-and-such date!!!! get me all worked up and then, oh, gotta wait. It's fun though, right?

Hey, at least I don't say "available now!" in the subject line, and then say "for pre-order" in the body of the email. :-)

Admittedly, there was the time something didn't come out until three months after its scheduled release date. But that *was* because another book got released instead...

ah...your right...that's true, and you did say that in your original post about the subject line (sorry). I always fall for the excerpts and previews, and seem to be in a perpetual state of waiting....especially movies. I hate those teasers, but I guess I loved to be teased. I mean I want to see the up-and-coming, but it kills me when they say coming to a theatre near you NEXT year or whenever.

The Dolphin Dreams episode *was* a little embarrassing. I'd turned it in early, the cover art emerged at a fairly early stage so I wanted to wave it around, but I was being good and saying, "It will be out early next year" so that people knew it wouldn't be along for a while yet -- and then I somehow wrote another full novel length book instead of the novella I was expecting, with a specific date theme, and we couldn't get them both through editing in time. So "late winter release" turned into "late spring release", and various readers wanted to kill me...

ahhhh...well, Dolphin Dreams was worth the wait!!....but let me at those editors!!!! ha, just joking!
