A typo in the British Fantasy Awards shortlist in this morning's Ansible provided me with a certain amount of amusement speculating on exactly what desperance had been writing:

Chaz Brenchley, _Bride of Dreams_

(It's supposed to be Bridge, not Bride.)

Oh, tell me about it. But do not blame Ansible, because Dave took it direct from the BFS' own website (and if anyone out there can find a way to correct that, they are a better webster than I am, Gunga Din).

Also, I'm quite excited about it, and am now determined to write "Bride of Dreams"...

Also, am quite excited about being shortlisted, tho' trying to temper excitement with realism, because no, I am not going to win among that lot...

Nevertheless, much congratulations on the short-listing -- that's something to be proud of, even if you don't win.

And yes, when I read it, I could see you actually writing something with that title. Though if you go ahead and do so, you will have to change the title on anything novel-length, because, well, you know what will happen with confusion between the two books... Which would be a shame, because it is very evocative.

Why not write "Groom of Dreams"? Heh. Or, indeed, "Groom of Dream's".

I've started on "Dead of night", BTW, and like it a lot so far.
