Torchwood series 2 on sale at Play

Play has apparently gone mad -- they are currently listing the Region 2 boxed set of Torchwood series 2 for pre-order at 14.99 rather than the list price of 49.99:

There has been some speculation as to whether this is an error; if it is they can cancel the order. But it's been like that for a day or two, so it may well be real. The set is due for release on 30 June.

ETA: The evil giant South American river still has the boxed set of series 1 at 22 quid. I am Not Pleased with them at the moment, but since there is a massive saving right now, here's the link: Torchwood : Complete BBC Series 1 Box Set [2006]

Thanks. Mistake or not. I've ordered it too. It's just too good to miss at that price.

I was really annoyed that it took them so long to bring out a boxed set of Torchwood season one. After fruitless enquiries via the BBC website I'd just decided they weren't going to do the boxed set and ordered the individuals when the news came out. I was able to return the individuals and order the set instead.

Play.com have cancelled the order because the price was wrong. I've now got the Series 1 set from Amazon.co.uk though!

I got the email of doom this morning as well. I'm honestly not that surprised. But I knew Amazon's price on series 1 was right, because I'd ordered and received the set myself at that price last month. My thought was that it was to get people interested in the series 2 set plus clearing some of the stock before the BluRay version is released.

I suspect that I'll cave and get the boxed set immediately instead of waiting for it to come down to a sane price. There's just too much good stuff in there that I want to watch again, and I'm not just talking about the porn, good though the porn is.

I always thought the S1 box set was overpriced. I mainly wanted it so I can prepare more Torchwood Wobblevision scripts. It'll be a while before I've done all of S1 (I've only prepared five episodes so far, using rental DVDs) so I can afford to wait a while for S2.
