writing grumbles
May. 2nd, 2008 06:44 pmI wrote a page or so today on the "no, we are not joining the Mile High Club even if it *is* your 30th birthday" L&M short, and will probably end up deleting it. Mostly because I can't decide whether it's more plausible for Steven to just go for first class to begin with, or to book business class on the assumption that he gets upgraded half the time and first isn't sufficiently better to warrant paying twice the price. Plus thinking that the setup page will probably give people the wrong idea about where the story's going. So possibly a net word count of zero for the day. On the other hand, at least I wrote 500 words or so, after a month or so of nothing.

Date: 2008-05-02 06:02 pm (UTC)I've tried my hand at fanfic only a few times, and I find that I can only write when using a celebrity and not a character from a TV show. For whatever reason, I need to create new characters or else do complete overhauls on existing ones. *g* I'm strange that way, I guess.

Date: 2008-05-02 06:46 pm (UTC)I can take it either way, but while it's not a major plot point in itself, it will affect some of the dialogue later. (In particular one of the cabin crew talking to Steven in the middle of the night about them not being able to read what the relationship between Mark and Steven actually is, partly because when Steven's offered the upgrade he insists that Mark gets it as well.) So it's *bugging* me, in the way that relatively trivial things can do. :-)
