boxset sale at HMV

Note for UK fans -- HMV is having a boxset sale, which includes New Who series 1 at 30 quid and Torchwood series 1 at 25 quid in-store (at least in Manchester). There's a different mix of products in the sale in the online store, which doesn't seem to have Who1, but has Torchwood 1 even cheaper (and Who 3 at 40 quid).

They had New Who S1 here at 30 quid, too, this morning. (Last week, they had S2 at 35 quid). I didn't see TW, though - I might go back and have a look for that.

I looked for New Who s2, as that's the one where I still haven't seen a fair number of the episodes, but annoyingly they didn't have any, whether at full price or in the sale. The webshop has it at full price, alas.

The webshop has Torchwood s1 at 23 pounds, postage-free, if you're still looking for that. Along with a lot of other cult tv boxsets, but I am resisting temptation so far.

If you happen to see it for 35 quid or less, I would appreciate it. I'm not in a desperate hurry to acquire it as I've got several other boxsets to work my way through; but I do want to get it eventually, so if it's going cheap I'll grab one.

I went in and had a look today, but they'd evidently had a run on the DW sets in the sale: I'm afraid all they had left was a couple of S1. I'll keep an eye open, though. I'm optimistic: I've never seen the sets anywhere this cheap before; seeing them in both HMV and amazon at this sort of price perhaps suggests a general shift?

Thanks for looking, anyway. I shall keep an eye on the online shops, as it will doubtless show up again eventually.

I did wonder when Torchwood S1 first started showing up half price if it's connected with them starting to release BluRay versions. The BluRay version of S1 TW is released the same day as the standard DVD version of S2.
