My boots, let me show you them
Apr. 18th, 2009 08:38 amCollected boots from Duo at lunchtime yesterday, and took them back to the office to put on so that I could get used to walking in them on a nice carpeted floor rather than on a city street.
One of the High Status Elderly Males wandered past just as I was taking a boot out of the box, and made a stereotypical comment that suggested that a boot need merely be black and shiny to trigger a particular response, high heels are not necessary. (Yes, he was joking.)
More serious interest was paid by some of the other women, who were a) impressed by the quality, b) even more impressed when they moaned about not being able to get boots to fit, and I told them *why* I'd gone to Duo. I suspect there may be more custom heading the shop's way at some point.
I only wore them for a few hours around the office, and eventually changed out of them, because the leather had kinked around the ankle and was digging into me a bit. They'll need to be broken before I can wear them all day, and I don't think I'd want to wear them if I was standing all day. But they do seem pretty comfortable.

Date: 2009-04-18 09:31 am (UTC)The other women's reaction sounds similar to that of lots of other women friends when they've seen/heard about Duo. If most manufacturers are going to be so hopeless, then at least the word should be spread about Duo!
