and another thing about rasfc
Apr. 24th, 2009 08:06 pm[Note: this post will not make sense to about 3/4 of you. Don't worry about it.]
One of the other things I miss about rasfc-as-was? The pen porn. Can't remember the last time I saw a good stationery fetish post...
This thought brought to you by a stationery fetish post just seen on rasfc-the-LJ-filter.

Date: 2009-04-25 08:35 am (UTC)Granted, we did lots of things with a pen and there were two penpots next to the shift leaders' terminals for the bankers to grab, and they often went away with them, but still. TWO HUNDRED. A WEEK.
I was pleased with this arrangement because both Paolo and me are fan of the Bic Orange, which everybody else loathed. They are still sold in bulk, but it's hard to find them at stationery shops.

Date: 2009-04-24 08:34 pm (UTC)Well, imagine what a bunch of writers are like when discussing a really good stationery shop or a specialist pen shop with the Shiny fountain pens we can't really afford...

Date: 2009-04-24 08:49 pm (UTC)See now when I'm ordering stationery at work I'm going to be thinking dirty things... Its bad enough that the people I work with think I'm a little overly friendly with the contents of the stationery cupboard (:

Date: 2009-04-25 08:46 am (UTC)I have also misplaced by Pelikan Souveran. I hope it's misplaced and not lost, but I am getting an increasing lump in my throat. No way I can replace it at my current financial level. Still, both the Parker 51 and the Sheaffer Intrigue are acquainting themselves very well, I have to say.

Date: 2009-04-25 01:01 pm (UTC)I tend to go with fairly cheap pens anyway, but I'm rather peeved that I can't find my Parker Vector calligraphy set. It's not as if it would cost me a fortune to replace it, but I *know* that it will turn up about two days after I go and buy a new one.

Date: 2009-04-25 04:35 pm (UTC)Though admittedly, back when I used it moderately often, I was thinking that it would be nice to have another set so that I could keep one loaded with black ink and another with blue...

Date: 2009-04-26 08:12 am (UTC)I never did much calligraphy as such with it -- but I did use it for occasions when I wanted it to be obvious that yes, a fountain pen had been used. :-)

Date: 2009-04-26 08:17 am (UTC)I have to admit that I've switched most of my writing to gel pens, which are wonderfully easy in maintenance and reasonably cheap if you buy them in multipacks. They've just worked out better than fountain pens.
