Dang. I need to take my vote back and revote. I wanted to vote for something new that I might ultimately get to read (e.g. L&M3), but completely missed the "some more of a new book" category. So move my NOTA vote to the SMOANB category, please.

You can actually change your vote -- you have to select the poll number link, then select "fill out poll" in the menu of things you can do with poll, and it lets you change your selection.

"some more of Book 3 in a currently published series" is in fact Lord and Master 3. "Some more of a new book" is the urban fantasy about a tax inspector and a fairy in modern London.

I would have voted for several of those things. Any plans to do more in the Buildup series this year or next?

Um... I had plans to write a third Buildup book as the second (I think) book in the queue after finishing Pulling Strings. Now, I frequently get distracted by a Newer, Shinier Idea, especially back then when I often went travelling for several weeks and would start something new while I didn't have access to the file, but in this case it was honest to goodness writer's block. I simply couldn't get past the first page.

Usually if I get a problem like that I just switch to something else, and it's unkinked itself by the time I finish the alternative thing. But this one has been blocked for six years now. I have never had that happen before or since, and it's really irritating because I *know* what the plot is. (It's the story of the commander of that abandoned base in Pulling Strings, and how and why he went awol.)

The original plan was to write that book, and then to write a fourth book throwing the assorted characters on various sides into a situation where they had no choice but to work together.
